I hardly ever post here to begin with, so I thought a renaming of this blog would be appropriate. This blog was originally created for my 11th grade English class (hence the English writing samples), and my teacher wanted it constrained to a single subject. I chose rocketry, since that was what I was interested in the most at the time.
I am now a senior, and while I'm still shooting to be an aerospace engineer, right now I've been doing a lot in 3D printing. Over the Summer, I actually bought all the parts for and built my own 3D printer after the Prusa i3 design. I have about $800 tied up in it, and that's not including filament and other things. I really do regret not documenting that build process here. It would have been a good thing to direct people to, and it may have helped some people out. I planned on documenting the construction on the RepRap forums, but I am lazy. I'll make a page with details about my printer later. My plan for the future of the blog is to have it be a place where I can show my design process when I make new parts to print for a specific job, much like the nosecone for my water bottle rocket last year. The first thing I need to make are some new Z-axis top and bottom mounts that accommodate the X carriage on my printer. More details on that on the next post! (I know nobody actually looks at these pages; I'm just posting these here in case the blog gets big and people want to look back and see how it all started. Documentation looks good, too.)
