The previous models I used had the wrong diameters. The diameter of a 2-liter bottle of Mountain Dew is not 4 inches, but it is 4.25 inches. So I redesigned everything all over again. The rings look the same, but there are some changes to the nosecone bracket. The nosecone isn't designed yet, but here is a picture of the bracket it will be attached to: This is going to work a little differently. This part attaches to the top of the rocket, where those weird soda bottle ridges are (hence the 5-fold symmetry). The features on the top of this model will keep it from sliding once on top of the bottle by taking a hold of those ridges. It isn't a perfect fit, but it should be close enough. The circular holes on the outside of the disc are going to house 5 pegs that slide through this model's holes and the holes that will be on the nosecone, keeping the two parts together without using glue.
The layout to the right of the model is called a sketch. It is a 2-dimensional drawing that I use as the basis of the 3D model by extruding it upwards. As of the time of me writing
